‘WORKPLACE TRANSPORT – A TOOLKIT FOR DUTYHOLDERS’
Every year workers are killed on construction sites by moving vehicles or by vehicles overturning. Many more are seriously injured in this way. The risks can be reduced if the use of vehicles and mobile plant is properly managed. Managing Workplace Transport has been and remains one of HSE’s priority areas for improvement. This seminar is therefore vital for those who plan, manage and control transport on construction sites.
Our speakers will discuss the various factors that need to be considered when planning and managing all aspects of Workplace Transport.
Paul Elwell is a Director of H2H Consulting which provides a full range of construction management services to clients working in the built environment. He has a specialist interest in construction and highway safety, and is Chairman of the North East CDM Support Group and of the embryonic Working Well Together NE Regional Group. Paul will talk about some of the common transport related problems facing Clients, Designers, Principal Contractors, and Contractors. He will outline a range of principles that can be applied and methods that can be adopted to deal with these Transport issues.
Dave Nixon is the Road Casualty Reduction Officer from Durham Constabulary. His presentation will cover road safety issues.
Stephen Race works for Seymour Civil Engineering Contractors Ltd as an Operations Manager and is also a Committee Member of the North East CDM Support Group. Stephen’s presentation will cover Occupational Road Risk and Company Driving Policy.
